2011 Season - Week 19
All-BUMS Voting
Time to vote for your favourite players of 2011. Attached are the top scoring players at each position. As per usual I need (in order) your top 3 Running Backs and top 3 Receivers plus your number 1 & 2 Quarterbacks, Kickers and Head Coaches. These should be with me by Thursday February 2nd so that the votes can be counted and the team can be announced at the BUMS Superbowl Party on Sunday February 5th, at HQ from around 10:30pm.
And then there were four
The first three games of the weekend all went to form with the home teams coming off a bye week and winning, but in the final game the home team looked like the bye week had knocked them out of synch as the highest scoring offence struggled all day long. In the best game of the weekend San Francisco finally beat New Orleans when TE Vernon Davis caught his second TD pass with just 14 seconds left, the fourth lead change in the final four minutes. Tebow-time was replaced by Tommy-time as Tom Brady tied an NFL postseason record throwing six TDs (five in the first half!) and New England demolished Denver 45-10. Three of his scores went to Rob Gronkowski taking the Gronks haul to 21 TDs in 17 games this season and 27 scores in his last 25 games. Baltimore held on to beat Houston when Ed Reed intercepted TJ Yates with 2 minutes left, one of four turnovers the Ravens defense created. However in the final game the last team to qualify for the postseason knocked out the first team to qualify. Spurred on by a rejuvinated defense and a successful Hail Mary at the end of the first half, the New York Giants dealt Green Bay their second and final defeat of the season.

A big congratulations to everyone who played in the Divisional Round of the BUMSBowl. The average score was 40 points per owner, bolstered by Mark’s record setting weekly score in the post season. Mark only spent $5.5m and posted 57 points (four more than Chief scored in the divisional round back in1999). Mark got 18 from his QB Tom Brady, 13 from Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes, 12 from Jimmy Graham, 8 from Darren Sproles and 6 from Willis McGahee. If only he’d played Rob Gronkowski (18pts) instead of Jordy Nelson (0) he would have set the highest weekly score in BUMS history – Mark was only one of two owners who didn’t have Gronk in his team.
